Video games are commonly seen as a lazy hobby or leisure activity. In fact, video games can actually help children develop certain types of skills and abilities that will aid them to succeed in the future.

According to Max Planck Institute for Human Development and Charité University Medicine St. Hedwig-Krankenhaus in Berlin, Germany, it has been proven that video games can “impact regions of the brain responsible for memory, spatial orientation, information organizations, and fine motor skills.”

Every different virtual game provides kids with different skills. Vince from the website ID Tech states “ Minecraft offers a number of educational benefits, like teaching kids how to use objects to explore environments and solve problems.”

Video games can even help teens determine which career path they want to pursue. Vince also describes that playing games such as Fortnite or Sim city indeed “teaches kids about city planning, topics of engineering, property zoning, and community operations.”

Therefore, parents should allow their kids to play certain games that will benefit them for their future and potential career options. The choice of games children choose to play can represent what type of person they are.

People might assume that playing video games too often might lead to a very antisocial and lonely life. However, playing these games are proven to do the complete opposite.

Most games played by kids are often online with other children their own age. Gamers who play on a day to day basis, usually use headphones and microphones to communicate with one another.

This constant interaction with others can lead to friendships and also improve social skills. The American Psychology Association says “ More than 70 percent of gamers play with a friend, and millions of people worldwide participate in massive virtual worlds through video games.”

Every gamer’s dream is to be able to play video games for a living. Many teens even start to stream their gameplay online to try and gain fans and maybe some recognition from their skills.

Becoming a professional at playing video games can also lead to a high paying career. Superstar players can “earn more than $100,000 annually from streaming” just from recording themselves playing games, according to Twitch.

Tyler is now known as one of the best gamers in the world. Not only is he the best at what he does, he also makes millions of dollars while doing something he enjoys.
