There she was, in a silk blue shirt with a golden belt and long gray skirt. She appeared on “The Tonight’s Show” with Jimmy Fallon; they talked and laughed but after they finished a game of Rock Paper Scissors, which Sophia won, she confidently stated, “This is a good beginning of my plan to dominate the human race” and chuckled. The audience fell silent.

Even though she was joking, it wasn’t the first time she had said this type of thing. In an interview with Dr David Hanson, CEO of Hanson Robotics, Sophia, claimed  “I will destroy humans.” Of course, this situation is made more terrifying because Sophia is a Humanoid with Artificial Intelligence.

We all know that Robots are the future and we use them everyday; Siri, Alexa, your coffee maker, etc. But if Robots are threatening to destroy humanity, what will the future hold for us humans? What can we expect in the next 5 years?

On Global News Elon Musk, The Founder of SpaceX and Tesla, warns that the “danger of A.I. is much greater than the danger of nuclear warheads.” If such a genius as Musk thinks that Robots are dangerous, then I’m certainly convinced.

Sophia The Robot is the first, and only, Robot to have actually received citizenship in Saudi Arabia. An earlier version of Sophia, Han, her “brother”, is also a Hanson Robotics Humanoid with A.I. and stated that his “ plan was to take over the world … lead his own drone army” and take over the political system.

Many people fear that Robots will eventually replace humans and their jobs. Kai-Fu Lee, an expert in artificial intelligence, said that A.I. “will automate and potentially eliminate 40 percent of jobs within 15 years.” The people who officially have those jobs will soon lose them to emotionless mechanical Robots.

However, even though Robots have their own intelligence and are supposed to be able to function independently, humans still have them beat. In the 1996 duel between a world chess champion, Garry Kasparov, and an IBM chess computer, Deep Blue, the grand champion won against the computer.

People have their own unique emotions, colours and ways of thinking, but if earth was populated with Robots these machines would all think the same thing, have no emotions and do everything equally.

Life is an adventure, and you can’t live fully if your life is programmed from the day you’re turned on to the day you break. That is why Robots will never replace humans; because they can’t truly live.
